LIFETIME HEROES – DID YOU KNOW…

Did you know …

In World War I, women were only allowed to do noncombat jobs so men could go fight. Such jobs included salesclerk,

nurse, teacher, social worker, librarian, housekeeper, or office worker. World War II changed that. Many jobs were in the

new field of flying. Over half the women were called Air WAC’s. “Women’s Army Corp”. These women ran airport control

towers, packed parachutes, repaired planes, and taught navigation skills to male pilots. “Women in the Air Force” WAF was

formed in 1948. Thanks to all the brave women who proudly served our great country during WWI and WWII.

Gen. Dwight D. Eisenhower said that “their contributions in efficiency, skill, spirit, and determination are immeasurable”
