LIFETIME HEROES – DID YOU KNOW…

Did you know …

In World War I, women were only allowed to do noncombat jobs so men could go fight. Such jobs included salesclerk,

nurse, teacher, social worker, librarian, housekeeper, or office worker. World War II changed that. Many jobs were in the

new field of flying. Over half the women were called Air WAC’s. “Women’s Army Corp”. These women ran airport control

towers, packed parachutes, repaired planes, and taught navigation skills to male pilots. “Women in the Air Force” WAF was

formed in 1948. Thanks to all the brave women who proudly served our great country during WWI and WWII.

Gen. Dwight D. Eisenhower said that “their contributions in efficiency, skill, spirit, and determination are immeasurable”

Lifetime Heroes Prayer

As many times it is only by faith, that those we honor here today sustain their lives, we pause for this brief moment to give thanks for that faith and to ask that these lives and mothers and grandmothers and daughters and sisters of those who serve or have served our country, be blessed.

We know that no one who has not walked in their shoes can truly know the commitmenets they make… the struggles they face…the doubts they experience…or the pride they feel… and yet we ask that through this time we share today….that they, at least for a few moments…will know just how much we do recognize the due they have earned in their own service to our country.

May these Lifetime Heroes be protected, even as they pray that each of their service members will be protected…May they also be supported, even as they hope their loved ones will be supported….And finally, may they feel the love of their community, even as this community seeks to show its love for all who have served, or currently serve, in the military of our nation.

Be with us now as we share this time together…and when we leave this place…may we all take with us a new hope, a deeper understanding, and a faith renewed. Amen.

Lifetime Heroes Pin

We have been taking phone calls from folks wanting to know how to purchase a Lifetime Heroes Pin. We have two styles to choose from, one featuring red white and blue crystals and one with all white crystals. Please specify your preference and the quantity you would like and send your information to lifetimeheroes@gmail.com. Each pin is $20.00 and can be purchased at Ridgway Florist at 2503 Sherwood Way in San Angelo, TX or we can ship for an additional $5.00. All profits go to benefit the Intrepid Fund that supports our Military Families. We are working on a lapel pin for the gentlemen and it will be available soon. Fort Hood Prayer Request

We left the Lifetime Heroes Luncheon with such joy and pride in our hearts and immediately heard of the tragedy taking place in Fort Hood. We would like to ask for prayers for all of those mourning the loss of a loved one in that tragedy, or dealing with the emotions and grief. We also pray for those who are injured and have long recoveries ahead. If you know of a specific prayer request, we would be happy to post it. Please send prayer request to lifetimeheroes@gmail.com.

Lifetime Heroes Luncheon

The November 5th Lifetime Heroes Luncheon was a huge success. This was our first event to honor our Military Families and all of those who love the ones who serve.
